“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:38

Messages from inside Beirut: “PLEASE PRAY FOR LEBANON” – Trivina Kasis

Heartache and hope in Beirut, Lebanon.

Images of a priest delivering a mass – then suddenly having to run for his life to avoid falling debris.

A young bride glowing and beaming on her wedding day loses her footing as the blast, so forceful, she, along with the camera is thrown violently to the ground.

It’s estimated the cost to re-build after the explosion that shook Beirut to its core will cost more than $15 Billion. This, for an economy already suffering – and quite literally – on the brink of disaster.

But money pales in comparison to the human cost.

“PRAY FOR BEIRUT” is what many people from inside the country are calling to the people of the world, including  Trivina Kasis, a Lebanese woman studying nutrition at the American University in Beirut.

Miraculously, Ms. Kasis decided not to go to the hospital where she was training, or to her downtown Beirut apartment only hours before the catastrophic explosion.

Ms. Kasis said she felt the urgent need to send a video of hope amid all of the pain, hurt, and death happening in her country.

“We only need you to pray for Lebanon!”
